Feed Pigments

Carotenoid pigments for egg yolk, broiler skin and salmonid flesh colour.

Overview

Pigment is a graded, measurable output: yolk fan score, broiler skin b-value, salmon SalmoFan reading. That makes it one of the few feed inputs where the return on a dosage decision can be calculated exactly, and where a cheaper source with lower bio-efficacy costs more per colour point delivered.

Where it is used

  • Layer diets for yolk colour targets
  • Broiler skin and shank pigmentation
  • Salmonid and shrimp aquaculture pigmentation
  • Natural-pigment programmes replacing synthetics
